What a weekend, girls.
This past weekend, 14 of us incredible women came together for the very first camping trip with the IOW Adventure Girls UK - and honestly, it was everything we could’ve hoped for and more. From heartfelt chats and creative crafts to yoga flows and s’mores by the fire, this weekend felt like the purest celebration of what our community is all about: connection, courage, and the great outdoors.
What started as simple weekly walks has since grown into a full-on outdoor sisterhood - now including paddleboarding, beach hangs, wild swims, and yes… camping!
Our Weekend Base: Sunrise Hill Campsite 🌄
We were lucky enough to spend the weekend at Sunrise Hill Campsite in Brading, and we can’t thank them enough for their incredible hospitality. The team there went above and beyond - providing us with a gorgeous bell tent, fire pits, a handy gazebo, bin, and even a generously stocked ice chest full of complimentary goodies. Honestly, they made us feel so welcome, and the setting couldn’t have been more perfect for our first adventure together. 100% recommend you pay them a visit - we’ll absolutely be back!
Friday: Flowers, Fire Pits & Chocolate Hobnob S’mores
We kicked off our adventure by setting up camp and settling in with warm conversation, laughter, and gift bags to mark our first-ever overnight trip together. In a surprise turn of sweetness, the group gifted Rachel a beautiful bouquet and some well-deserved chocolates - a truly wholesome start to the weekend. 💐
The afternoon was filled with laid-back vibes. We chatted, shared snacks, and began painting a group art project - a bird box we all contributed to throughout the weekend. With the fire pits lit, the ukulele and harmonica came out, and the clouds began to roll in (classic UK camping), we snuggled into the moment.
And then came the s’mores - made with marshmallows, chocolate Hobnobs, and digestives - which turned out to be a massive hit. Next up? Pizzas - not just any pizzas, but hand-stretched, stone-baked sourdough ones from The Old Fort Seaview. If you haven’t tried them yet… do it. Trust us. We then had a wonderful quiz put together by one of the lovely ladies in the group.
Later, under cover of darkness, we wandered through Brading Marshes, catching glimpses of wildlife - including a surprise toad sighting! Nature really does show up when you least expect it. We won’t lie - the wind gave us a bit of a wild night’s sleep (about five hours between all of us), but spirits stayed high.
Sunday: Sunshine, Sauna & So Much Soul
We rose with the sun - sleepy, windswept, but ready for another beautiful day together. Kettles went on for coffee and tea, and breakfast brought us back to life.
Then came one of the weekend’s highlights: an outdoor yoga session with Mark Holden. With the sun shining down and the breeze finally calming, we flowed through a gorgeous session that left us grounded, stretched, and smiling.
But it didn’t stop there - because soon after, the Klys Coastal Sauna rolled in. What. A. Treat. The contrast of hot steam and fresh air was absolute magic. Some of us stayed behind to soak it all in a little longer, continuing with the art project or indulging in a blissful massage with Pasithea.
Slowly, people began to drift off - hearts full, hair a little wild, and memories made for life.
A Weekend We’ll Never Forget 💜
This camping trip was everything we dreamed it would be - and then some. We laughed, we created, we explored, and most importantly, we connected.
To each and every woman who joined us this weekend: thank you. You brought your energy, your warmth, and your sense of adventure - and that’s what made this experience so special.
Here’s to many more weekends under the stars, fireside chats, and unexpected wildlife encounters. If this was just the beginning of our camping chapter, we can’t wait to see what comes next.
Stay wild, ladies.
